Constructing the first roof truss

The first roof truss is constructed in a standing position. The left beam is fixed temporarily to the low cross-tie with a screw. An equivalent to the ridge board is then squeezed between it and the right beam which is then also fixed to the low cross-tie. A thinner horizontal beam is then fixed between the two main beams to finally make up the complete roof truss.
